My mother in law, sister in law and rest of the family was here two years ago and said that Angelo’s food was fantastic and couldn't wait for the rest of the family to join us to experience the great food he has created. An unbelievable individual and good-hearted person, I definitely recommend coming to the beach to try the food and homemade desserts made by Angelo’s mother….

Bar Ida looks like a promising beachfront spot — a chiringuito-style bar right on Maronti Beach. But what we encountered was pretentiousness without charm, paired with poor service and forgettable food.

We arrived for lunch to find the terrace barely a third full. Yet the male waiter immediately asked if we had a reservation — strange, given the emptiness. He then pointed us to a raised table by the coffee and gelato counter, clearly not part of the main restaurant area. Only after some hesitation did he “allow” us to sit on the terrace.

The odd part? Every guest who arrived after us was warmly welcomed and seated outside — no reservation questions asked. The double standard was impossible to miss.

As for the food: the pistachio-crusted prawns were listed as a starter, yes — but even for a starter, the portion was laughably small. The salad? Uninspired, small and minimal, yet €15. It all felt careless and overpriced.

Bar Ida seems to think it’s the next Club 55 — but let’s be clear: Club 55 is warmer, more professional, and Maronti beach is not Pamplelonne.

Disappointing and overrated. Hospitality should be welcoming, not selective. We won’t be back.

Amazing food and a beautiful setting. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, with just one waitress that came across a bit less warm — but overall it was a lovely experience, will definitely always come back!

Update August 2020: still fantastic food; you simply cannot go wrong eating here for dinner

One of the best restaurants on Ischia. Food is classic but with inventive twists. All ingredients of the highest quality. So many options to choose from, but recommend the spaghetti Ida and spaghetti ai ricci in particular. Worth making the time to visit for dinner. I have visited multiple times over the last few years, and haven’t ever been disappointed. As a bonus, the owners are kind and courteous, and the service is always prompt.
